Thirty-five miles to the south of Garfield is the small community of Hill at the foot of the Doña Ana Mountains. A two-corridor underpass there beneath Highway 25 has been appropriated by taggers who cultivate a more mature urban style than the Garfield group.
The art work at Hill is similar to what one would see on walls and box cars from L.A. to New York. One gets the impression that the Hill site is more a target of opportunity for taggers from near-by communities than a refuge, as is the case at the more remote Garfield Arroyo.
